This race was in Portland ME. I had not been training on a regular basis since my last marathon in April. mainly I hadn't logged any long runs. Weather was a nice 66 degrees with 83% humidity. My wife and I were celebrating 10 years of marriage with a nice weekend away from home (and the kids) with a race.

I started out at my normal half pace. 6:36, 6:39, 7:27 (uphill), 6:22 (downhill), but then quickly started to feel the lack of preparatioin. The run was very scenic through old downtown Portland. many, many waterstops. There were two nice size hils at 2 and 6 miles. By the end I just didn't have the legs to finish sub 1:30. 7:45, 8:17, and 8:06 for the last three miles.

1:34:19 overall.

We finished the day off by touring lighthouses and 2 hours of kayaking in the bay.
