4:00 am run with ryan.  8:59, :30, :23, :35, :49, 9:00, 8:50, 9:00. 1:11:05 for 8.1 or 8:47 mpm ave.

Arnie and I are driving all night to Vriginia Beach for the Shamrock Marathon on Sunday.  Maybe a 4 or 5 mile shake out tomorrow afternoon after 12 hours in a truck and messed up sleep schedule.  The race is kind of at an odd time.  They run the half marathon at 7 on sunday, then the full marathon at 8:30.  This will make for a long day of driving on sunday after the race.

Funny, I was just noticing how close our mileage (week,month,year) are. Hope I can have some of the results you've had because of that! :-)

Thanks. congrats on BQ! I haven't been able to accomplish that yet. Either age or performance will eventually get me there.

For me, there is no underestimating the importance of long mileage weeks. I'm still bumping my mileage up.

This is the first year since I started running in Jan'11 that I've been able to get to this mileage and maintain it. Hopefully it will pay off. I've sacrificed some of my speed but I'm planning to gain that back as the miles taper for Boston. Maybe next year when you qualify and run I'll be ready to run with you. :-)
